“u0026quot;Flight Risku0026quot; was a total letdown. I went not with high expectations, but I at least expected a decent movie that could have potentially been very good. However somehow, it managed to dip even lower. The pacing was excruciatingly slow especially the first half, and the dialogue felt like it was straight out of a campy B-movie, which I believe also hindered the performances of the cast. That said, Mark Wahlbergu0026#39;s performance was the best. And seriously, that bald patch on Wahlberg? Talk about dodgy!u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAs a huge fan of all Mel Gibsonu0026#39;s previous works, an avid admirer of his talent both behind and in front of the camera, and of him as a person, I was genuinely shocked by how poorly this film was executed. Gibson has directed some of my all-time favorites, but u0026quot;Flight Risku0026quot; was not only mediocre; it was just plain bad. I canu0026#39;t even scratch the surface of what went wrong.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe excessive use of profanity throughout the film was another major letdown, not that it has much influence on my rating, if any. Hereu0026#39;s the thing: Mel Gibson and Mark Wahlberg are now known for their Christian beliefs, yet the dialogue was filled with foul language that felt completely out of character for what they stand for. Wahlberg even apologized to the Pope for his past roles, claiming he felt convicted about his choices, yet this film really doesnu0026#39;t reflect any growth or change. Instead, it felt like a missed opportunity for something meaningful and a bad example of what it is to be a u0026quot;Christ-follower, not to mention outright hypocritical. As Christ-followers we have the obligations to shine Jesusu0026#39; light through being an example of what He stands for. I donu0026#39;t see much of a difference in their ways compared to the rest of the world based on watching this.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eRomans 12:1-2 says:nu0026quot;I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.u0026quot;u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eEphesians 4:29 says u0026quot;Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace TO THOSE WHO HEAR.u0026quot;u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIn short, u0026quot;Flight Risku0026quot; was a disappointment on many levels. I walked away concerned and very curious to how u0026quot;The Resurrection of the Christu0026quot;, Gibsonu0026#39;s sequel to u0026quot;Passion of the Christu0026quot; will turn out. I pray they come to a place of conviction for their actions and hypocrisy, and ultimately aim for change.”
