“Looking for something to see, I was intrigued by the premise of misfit little leaguers. Could this be an updated The Bad News Bears?u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eNope. Itu0026#39;s a whitewashed family film scrubbed of any edge, predictable beyond belief, and boring.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIt was hard to find what the appeal would be for either adults of children.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThis a true story that is supposed to be inspiring but instead is a poor tribute to the brave coach the film is honoring.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eGreg Kinnear looks bored and tired. Luke Wilson fares better but the sappy script lets him down. The kids make little impression. The film builds no tension and you basically know how it will end after the first 20 minutes.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe film is also weirdly lit, and poorly edited. There is a line where the boys talk about someone partying in Vegas u0026quot;with mobstersu0026quot; which seemed to be dubbed over the original line which sounded like it was supposed to be u0026quot;with hookers.u0026quot; I guess that line was too risqué?u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI was the only one in the theater on the opening night preview. When a film opens quietly with almost no marketing, there is a reason.”
