The Hyperions (2022). The Hyperions: Directed by Jon McDonald. With Cary Elwes, Penelope Mitchell, Elaine Tan, Alphonso McAuley. In 1960, Professor Ruckus Mandulbaum invented the Titan badge – a device that enables humans to have a particular super power. He took in three down-on-their-luck youths, creating an unusual family of superheroes and they quickly rose to fame and prestige. Over time, however, the commercial family fractured and the Professor replaced the team with a new set of super hero teens. Cut to 1979 when two of the original superheroes are all grown up and wanting their Titan badges back, even if it means robbing the Professor’s museum and taking a few hostages accidentally.

“The story of the movie takes a unique approach to the superhero genre. So much so that it almost doesnu0026#39;t feel like a superhero movie.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe set design is fun, and really leans into a 50u0026#39;s/60u0026#39;s era esthetic. Props on the other hand look cheap, as if they were plastic toys, however they are charming and remind me of something from the old power rangers show.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe acting is unfortunately the weakest part of the film. They actors feel like they are trying, but their direction is off. The delivery on most of the jokes donu0026#39;t quite hit the mark. Not terrible, but it certainly isnu0026#39;t amazing.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI personally liked this movie for all of its strange quirks, but I certainly can understand how a others might have a harder time liking it.”
