JD Lawrence’s Community Service: With JD Lawrence, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Clifton Powell, Buddy Lewis. JD Stevens (JD Lawrence) is a struggling New York actor and playwright that would do almost anything to help a friend in need. His loyalty is put to the test when he agrees to represent his best friend, Sylvester (Buddy Lewis), in traffic court. Things get even more complicated when a simple $25 ticket turns into a sentence of 5,000 hours of community service at the local community center, run by the judge’s temperamental uncle, Bishop Nixon (Clifton Powell).

“This show is absolute trash. Iu0026#39;ve seen JD for many years in NY theater, his work is like backwash u0026quot;Chitlinu0026#39; Circuitu0026quot; garbage. Heu0026#39;s so full of himself and his so called u0026quot;talentu0026quot; that he has to play multiple roles in his own work – and from project to project (including this one) itu0026#39;s ALWAYS THE SAME CHARACTERS… Just different story scenarios. That old man character he plays in the show.. Same dirty old wig he always wears on stage, I mean REALLY!? And yes there are actors who do play multiple roles in other shows/movies, but hell they do it well. He fails horribly.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI gagged because Iu0026#39;m in awe anyone would put this mess on TV. But then again, it was on Aspire – and Iu0026#39;m black/Latina so thatu0026#39;s not a racist comment, just alluding to the fact that a lot of the stuff that comes on that channel failed getting on something more mainstream – because it sucks.Just like this show.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003ePass on it – or maybe watch it if you have a few brain cells to burn.”
