“I sat down in 2021 to watch the 2011 Hong Kong action comedy u0026quot;Xiao Yong Chunu0026quot; (aka u0026quot;I Love Wing Chunu0026quot;). And when I did so, I hadnu0026#39;t even heard about the movie. But still, with it being a Hong Kong movie that I hadnu0026#39;t seen before, then of course I found the time to do so.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eWith the likes of Wah Yuen and Qiu Yuen on the cast list, I must admit that I had expected to be in for something perhaps akin to u0026quot;Kung Fu Hustleu0026quot;.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eSure, u0026quot;I Love Wing Chunu0026quot; is a watchable action comedy, but it just didnu0026#39;t prove to be outstanding. So writers Chen Chen Lim and Lex Tsai just didnu0026#39;t really manage to churn out something overly impressive. But donu0026#39;t get me wrong, it is not a bad movie. Not at all. It just wasnu0026#39;t impressive.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAnd I wanted to enjoy u0026quot;I Love Wing Chunu0026quot;, I really did. But director Lex Tsai just only managed to mildly entertain me with this 2011 action comedy. And while I did manage to sit through the movie, this is hardly a movie that I will be returning to watch a second time.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eSure, u0026quot;I Love Wing Chunu0026quot; has an adequate ensemble of actors and actresses, with the most noticeable being Wah Yuen and Qiu Yuen, of course.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe comedy in u0026quot;I Love Wing Chunu0026quot; was subtle at best. On occasion it did manage to get me to smirk, but it never did get me to laugh. So the movie wasnu0026#39;t a particularly impressive comedy movie.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eu0026quot;I Love Wing Chunu0026quot; is a movie that came and went without leaving a lasting impression. As such, I am rating it a very bland and mediocre five out of ten stars.”
