1922: Directed by Zak Hilditch. With Thomas Jane, Molly Parker, Dylan Schmid, Kaitlyn Bernard. A simple yet proud farmer in the year 1922 conspires to murder his wife for financial gain, convincing his teenage son to assist. But their actions have unintended consequences.

“The movie is beautifully shot and very evocative of the period and location.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe plot summary tells you up front what happens — a man kills his wife after coercing his son into helping. Who knows why he couldnu0026#39;t have just done it himself. As expected with a Stephen King story, things go downhill afterwards.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eMy primary objection is the accent used by Thomas Jane in the lead role. Was it supposed to be … some kind of Midwest Okie? Others have praised his acting so mine is a minority opinion, but I could never get past it.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe story is narrated by the father, which isnu0026#39;t a device I particularly enjoy in general, plus it makes his weird accent and slowly deliberate way of speaking even more prominent.”
