“The initial scene had me cringing – the main actor is delivering a speech in a pretty terrible Irish accent. Thankfully, it was meant not to be taken seriously and the film got going very quickly.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe characters are a delight – they very quickly display their wackiness and continue doing so throughout the film. My one criticism is that diction is a bit of a problem at certain points – which would be acceptable had the subtitles been in-sync with the delivery! So, thatu0026#39;s frustrating.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAlso that the overall volume is varied as if consistent sound level hadnu0026#39;t been achieved.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAs an introduction to a new Director, it was encouraging. There are no mind-blowingly new camera angles or staggeringly inventive shots – but the script doesnu0026#39;t demand it as itu0026#39;s a straightforward Farce and works well.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eHowever, the Directoru0026#39;s inclusion of the running u0026#39;blind girl jokeu0026#39; in the background within the dialogue thatu0026#39;s at the forefront of the scene has been managed well. Itu0026#39;s one of the funniest in-jokes throughout the film.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eItu0026#39;s also good that the Director hasnu0026#39;t tried to spin out the length but has kept it intense and short – which works perfectly.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe film had me laughing – and the querkiness of the screenplay is superb.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAll in all, a very good Directorial debut – and, as he also wrote the script, I look forward to seeing what comes next.”
