Insignificance – Die verflixte Nacht: Directed by Nicolas Roeg. With Michael Emil, Theresa Russell, Tony Curtis, Gary Busey. Four 1950s icons meet in the same hotel room and two of them discover more in common between them than they ever anticipated.

“This starts with the filming of the iconic scene from The Seven Year Itch (1955). Marilyn Monroe (Theresa Russell) returns to her hotel. Senator Joseph MacCarthy (Tony Curtis) harasses Albert Einstein demanding that he testifies for his committee. Joe DiMaggio (Gary Busey) is having a drink at the bar.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI canu0026#39;t see more than simple caricatures in the performances. Tony Curtis is a little short which leaves him less threatening. Worst of all, he is too sweaty which is a deliberate way to paint his character. Heu0026#39;s trying too hard in the wrong way. Theresa Russell does not have Marilynu0026#39;s flirty fun. Gary Busey is being Gary Busey. I donu0026#39;t know much about the Einstein actor but he does a fine job even if I donu0026#39;t always love the writing. The plot is rather aimless. This is high concept with empty substance. Itu0026#39;s a journey looking for a direction.”
