“5 hour 38 mins experimental film directed by Lav diaz is gripping and mesmerizing. In Philippines during 1972, mysterious things are happening in a remote region. Wails are heard from the forest, cows are hacked to death, a man is found bleeding to death and houses are burned.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eLav Diaz is brilliant as director and as well as cinematographer, he takes his time with his settings, which might exhaust the common audience, the camera capturing beautiful natural scenes, landscape, upon which a small figure will be strolling from distance untill he exists in a close up shot.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eA great movie with hauntingly trauamtic story-line.”
