Oi voskoi: Directed by Nikos Papatakis. With Olga Karlatos, George Dialegmenos, Lambros Tsagas, Elli Xanthaki. Katina, an impoverished Greek woman, tries to arrange the marriage of her shepherd son, Thanos, to Despina, the daughter of a wealthy landowner. But Despina’s father, Vlahopoulos, refuses to give his blessings and wants Despina to marry a wealthier gentleman named Yankos. The wealthy and spoiled Yankos plots to break up the romantic union between Thanos and Despina any way possible while the young lovers plot to run away in a futile attempt to begin a new life for themselves.

“The film took place in remote village with some interesting people.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIn the village there are some people who are well off and some are fairly impoverished. But both these groups try to improve their social status through the marriage of their children. But the parents were totally oblivious about their childrenu0026#39;s wish. Despina was the girl whose marriage create a lot of chaos in the regular life of the village. Three different party try to marry her which created some terrible misunderstanding.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe film has all these elements: drama, comedy, joy and sorrow in the story. The acting was average and the screenplay was decent. But in the film neither the script nor the characters stands out. It was a moderately average film.”
