Walking the Baby: Directed by Aubrey Scotto. With George Burns, Gracie Allen, Chester Clute. Street-sweeper George flirts with a pretty, but dizzy, nursemaid in the park. Incorporates Burns u0026 Allen’s vaudeville “dizzy” routine.

“George Burns is a street sweeper in this short. Gracie Allen is a nurse walking a baby. It takes about half of the movie in various bits and gags before Gracie begins one of her monologues about her brother, so tht means thatu0026#39;s about four minutes of top notch material in this short comedy, derived from their stage routine u0026quot;Dizzy.u0026#39;u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eBurns once remarked that he had theeasiest jb in the world: all he did was say u0026quot;Whatu0026#39;s the latest from your brother?u0026quot; and smoke a cigar. He was also kept busy as a straght man helping his partner keep the pacing right, working on productions, and so forth, but once they get past the irrelevant absurdities with George Clute, itu0026#39;s Gracie talking about her brother. Itu0026#39;s an act that was successful on stage, radio, and television for. 38 years. Sheu0026#39;s still funny.”
