The Happy Hooker Goes Hollywood: Directed by Alan Roberts. With Martine Beswick, Chris Lemmon, Adam West, Richard Deacon. A prostitute writes a bestseller book about her profession which attracts the attention of a studio executive who attempts to adapt it into a movie. They have a falling off and she decides to make the film on her own despite sabotage.

“u0026quot;The Happy Hooker Goes Hollywoodu0026quot; was one of the first movies made by notorious producers Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus after they took over Cannon Studios. Even at this stage, they showed here that they could make a decent-looking movie on a low budget (it has the highest production values of the trilogy). There is also a lot of nudity and sex – I think itu0026#39;s safe to say this movie has more sex and nudity than the first two movies combined. And the script has some amusing in-jokes (Silversu0026#39; character name u0026quot;Warkoffu0026quot; is obviously a sly send-up of B movie producer Samuel Z. Arkoff.) u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eUnfortunately, despite all this, the movie still doesnu0026#39;t add up to much. There may be all that sex and nudity, but itu0026#39;s directed with such an innocent attitude that itu0026#39;s not the least bit erotic. Silvers is wasted in a role that obviously didnu0026#39;t take long to film. West seems very embarrassed (his career was still in the toilet at the time.) But the biggest problem is that the movie doesnu0026#39;t have that much story. Thereu0026#39;s only half a story here, the rest being obvious filler.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eOnly for Golan and Globus fanatics who are determined to watch everything they produced.”
