“First, letu0026#39;s address the elephant in the room. This micro budget independent film wonu0026#39;t be winning awards for sound or lighting design. It was shot with very little money, so the production values are very low. u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThat being said, this is an extremely well written script with solid acting, wonderful characters, and a heart that is bigger than the sum of its parts. I was really impressed with the structure of this comedy. Excellent scene progression with tons of funny quotable lines (the u0026quot;no one should be alone on their wedding nightu0026quot; is one of my favorites). It reminded me of watching the early work of Woody Allen, Billy Wilder, and Neil Simon. The work is a comedy of manners and doors neatly woven together with a smart, effective premise. u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIf this is the kind of work that newcomer writer/director Matthew Wilson can put together with a microscopic budget, imagine the sort of material he could produce with studio backing. u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eu0026quot;The Virginsu0026quot; is a fun, solid film, and I hope to see more like it from this crew.”
