“u0026#39;Walt Disney Animation Short Films Collectionu0026#39; is a truly excellent collection of twelve short films (u0026#39;John Henryu0026#39;, u0026#39;Lorenzou0026#39;, u0026#39;Little Match Girlu0026#39;, u0026#39;How to Hook Up Your Home Theateru0026#39;, u0026#39;Tick Tock Taleu0026#39;, u0026#39;Operation Secret Santau0026#39;, u0026#39;The Ballad of Bessieu0026#39;, u0026#39;Tangled Ever Afteru0026#39;, u0026#39;Papermanu0026#39;, u0026#39;Get a Horseu0026#39;, u0026#39;Feastu0026#39; and u0026#39;Frozen Feveru0026#39;) from Disney. Short films that capture the magic that always captivated me about Disney, and all of them range from good to outstanding.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eHave two personal favourites, for different reasons. One is u0026#39;Little Match Girlu0026#39;, which has to be up there with the most beautiful and most touching short films ever made. Itu0026#39;s gorgeously animated (one of the most beautiful looking short films ever to me, animated and non-animated), has an immensely rootable lead character, makes me cry uncontrollably every time and has some of the best use of Borodin in visual media, more so than u0026#39;Kismetu0026#39;. The other is u0026#39;Tangled Ever Afteru0026#39;, which is hilarious. Especially love Maximus, a major scene stealer in u0026#39;Tangledu0026#39; so deserved a bigger focus.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAlso very funny is u0026#39;How to Hook Up Your Home Theateru0026#39;, one of those short films that entertains and educates and very true to the spirit and style of the u0026quot;How to…u0026quot; Goofy cartoons. If you love that series and Goofy, you will get a kick out of it. Likewise with u0026#39;Get a Horseu0026#39;, which so cleverly emulates the spirit of classic u0026quot;golden ageu0026quot; Disney. Close behind u0026#39;The Little Match Girlu0026#39; in the emotional impact stakes is u0026#39;Papermanu0026#39;, also a powerful example of strong characterisation without saying a word.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eu0026#39;Tick Tock Taleu0026#39; is immensely charming, and u0026#39;Lorenzou0026#39; could easily have been obnoxious and potentially distasteful but instead managed to be very entertaining. u0026#39;Frozenu0026#39; seems to be one of the most hated-on films on the internet, personally love the film and loved u0026#39;Frozen Feveru0026#39; too. u0026#39;Feastu0026#39; and u0026#39;Ballad of Bessieu0026#39; are also very well made charmers.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eOf the twelve, my least favourite is u0026#39;Operation Secret Santau0026#39;. Which is still a good cartoon, but not a great one like most of the others in the collection. u0026#39;John Henryu0026#39; is very well done if also a lesser effort, due to some of the animation not being to my taste.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIn conclusion, great collection of Disney short films. 9/10”
