“Encounter at Farpoint was one of the most awkward, if not the most excruciating episodes of Trek to watch. At least it was reasonably free of flashbacks. Maybe the Section 31 movie would have been a great pilot episode in retrospect. Maybe Section 31 would have been the next great Trek series.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe Spocku0026#39;s brain part of my headline is an inside joke youu0026#39;ll need to see for yourself.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI at least finished it. I couldnu0026#39;t finish Rebel Moon. It has a similarly spectacular adolescence to it with explosions, fights, and interruptions for badass posturing and slow-mo walks.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe visual effects were superb. The score was superb.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe Acolyte used so many flashbacks it felt as if the DIsney production crew were pressed to reduce costs by re-using footage. Not the case here.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI suppose the biggest challenge I have is watching a reasonably well thought out season-long story arc with so much original content crammed into 90 minutes that burns 30 minutes of it being expository.”
