“Iu0026#39;m a big Beatles fan. But this is one of the worst Beatles documentaries Iu0026#39;ve ever seen. It ranks alongside Beatles songs such as u0026#39;Whatu0026#39;s The New Mary Janeu0026#39;!u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIt really struggles to stay focused. Sometimes it doesnu0026#39;t even feel like itu0026#39;s focused on The Beatles. It starts with a montage of JFK and a cover of u0026#39;I Wanna Hold Your Handu0026#39;, then one minute itu0026#39;s 1964 New York hanging out in the Beatles hotel room, next itu0026#39;s Ringo on Michael Aspel in the 80s talking about his clothes, then modern day Ringo going through his outfits from 1968, then a random insertion of u0026#39;In My Lifeu0026#39; (from Rubber Soul released in December u0026#39;65), random Little Richard interview with him talking about his song Tutti-frutti, five minutes of Smokey Robinson doing a cover of u0026#39;Yesterdayu0026#39; – what does that have to do with The Beatles in 1964? They may as well have included Oasis doing their cover of u0026#39;I Am the Walrusu0026#39; or included five minutes of Wings on tour in the 70s! There is no chronological order at all. Itu0026#39;s all over the place! Its only redeeming feature is the extra behind the scenes footage (cleaned up) of the lads being candid in their hotel room.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe best Beatles documentary is still u0026#39;The Beatles Anthologyu0026#39; from the u0026#39;90s. If you want to watch a documentary on The Beatlesu0026#39; first visit to the States just watch u0026#39;The First U. S. Visitu0026#39; (2004).”
