“1. Hugh Grant is a tour de force-God, I love that man! What a career heu0026#39;s had, and heu0026#39;s absolutely at the top of his game here.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003e2. The two female leads also deliver superb performances.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003e3. u0026quot;Hereticu0026quot; comes across as a watered-down version of the French horror classic Martyrs, one of my all-time favourite horror films.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003e4. As a cynical 💩 that I am I found myself surprisingly aligned with many of the filmu0026#39;s controversial points (couldnu0026#39;t help but feel seen by Hugh Grantu0026#39;s character-didnu0026#39;t see that coming, haha).u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003e5. I probably wouldnu0026#39;t recommend it if youu0026#39;re very religious…unless youu0026#39;re open to it?u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003e6. The movie has some uneven pacing and falls flat in parts – cutting 20-30 minutes could have made a huge difference, as all the tension it builds up just starts to fade halfway through.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003e7. And the ending? So anticlimactic, I canu0026#39;t even!u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003e8. Still a very worthwhile watch if youu0026#39;re a horror fan.”
