Les amants de Bras-Mort (1951). 1h 35m

“I thought never to see this rare canal transport movie shot at Conflans Sainte Honorine port, dealing with conflict between wooden and metal barges. It was directed by Marcel Pagliero, who already shot another movie dealing with union trades, u0026quot;Un homme marche dans la villeu0026quot;. Here, we are still in working class atmosphere, but with less tension than in u0026quot;Un homme …u0026quot;. The photography by Roger Hubert (u0026quot;les Enfants du Paradisu0026quot;, and so many Carné, Gance, ….) is gorgeous in the port of Conflans with the Seine banks. Casting isnu0026#39;t the best from french cinema, but itu0026#39;s ok for me. Yes, a better casting and more tension would have been interesting, but as it is, itu0026#39;s fine (I like the belgium character, rather funny).”
