Miss Philippines (1947). Miss Philippines: Directed by Gregorio Fernandez. With Norma Blancaflor, Jose Padilla Jr., Lirio del Valle, Alfonso Carvajal. Another comedy of errors about a search for a new star for LVN Pictures, then already a major production company at that time. Norma Blancaflor pretends to be rich to join the contest. She and her laundrywoman mother temporarily occupy a rich couple's residence who are currently abroad with their playboy son (Jose Padilla Jr.). Padilla comes home unexpectedly and plays along with the ruse.
