Ordinary Angels (2024). 1h 58m | PG

“I havenu0026#39;t really seen that many faith-based movies. Most of them just seem a little too heavy-handed for me. I decided to give them another chance with ORDINARY ANGELS. This must be the biggest surprise Iu0026#39;ve had in the past year. This is based on the extraordinary true story from Louisville, Kentucky in 1993. Sharon (Hillary Swank) is a hairdresser who is struggling with alcoholism. Looking for a purpose bigger than herself, she sees a newspaper article about a fractured family. Ed (Alan Ritchson) is struggling to take care of his two daughters, 8-year-old Ashley (Skywalker Hughes) and 5-year-old Michelle (Emily Mitchell) since their mother passed away. The hospital bills keep climbing, both from the momu0026#39;s visits and from Michelleu0026#39;s illness. The family is becoming desperate because Michelle needs a liver transplant. Sharon becomes obsessed with doing everything she possibly can for the family, from fundraisers to asking people she knew. This movie is an emotional roller-coaster. It made my heart warm, then melt, then cry, then warm up again. Not only is it very well acted by the entire ensemble, but the writing felt very authentic to me. I canu0026#39;t believe I almost missed the opportunity to see this in the theater. I highly recommend ORDINARY ANGELS if you need a cathartic cry.”
