“RELEASED IN 2010 and directed by Michael D. Sellers, u0026quot;Beneath the Blueu0026quot; chronicles events in the Bahamas when dolphin researchers clash with the US Navy over the latteru0026#39;s sonar program, which is killing dolphins. Caitlin Wachs plays the main protagonist, Alyssa, daughter of the dolphin expert (David Keith) while Samantha Jade u0026amp; Leah Eneas appear as her besties. Paul Wesley plays Alyssau0026#39;s mysterious beau and Ivana Milicevic his sister. Michael Ironside is also on hand as a Naval captain. u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThis is a stand-alone sequel to 2006u0026#39; u0026quot;Eye of the Dolphinu0026quot; with Caitlin Wachs overtaking the role of Alyssa, which was previously played by Carly Schroeder. Caitlin is superior IMHO; sheu0026#39;s just all-around beautiful, inside u0026amp; out. The only two returning from u0026quot;Eyeu0026quot; are the peripheral characters played by George Harris and Christine Adams. u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIn any case, this is a solid marine/island drama/adventure. Itu0026#39;s similar to u0026quot;Into the Blueu0026quot; (2005) and u0026quot;Into the Blue 2u0026quot; (2009), but less of a thriller and more family-oriented; not to mention the focus being on dolphins. Donu0026#39;t get me wrong, there are some thrills and even a crime element, but u0026quot;Beneath the Blueu0026quot; is decidedly mild by comparison, with a heartwarming cast of protagonists and a perceptible reverent ambiance. While this wasnu0026#39;t a major release itu0026#39;s not exactly a cheapo flick either with its $2.5 million price tag. u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAustralian musician and co-star Samantha Jade performs the song that plays over the end credits, u0026quot;Whatever I Can.u0026quot; u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eTHE MOVIE RUNS 92 minutes and was shot in the Bahamas (Grand Bahama Island) and Santa Catalina Island, CA.
