“Nest (2022) follows two siblings as they build and have fun in their tree house over the course of a year. This is a cute little short, but there really isnu0026#39;t anything to it and no meaning came across for me personally. I also wasnu0026#39;t all that entertained.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe film has some good cinematography and a really pretty setting to go alongside it, but I do wish it was more imaginative with its shots. I like how itu0026#39;s shot, and there are some nice colour palettes, specifically the sunsets which look beautiful and are very picturesque. However, some shots do linger for a bit too long and personally lost my interest.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe sound design is all very natural and thereu0026#39;s no score or music used to talk about. At first this felt a bit awkward, but I did grow to like the natural sounds as the invoke a feeling of peace and stillness which I appreciate.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIt is sweet to see the relationships between the siblings and there wholesome interactions, but unfortunately this isnu0026#39;t enough to carry an emotional weight. The dialogue is cute, but nothing special.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eMy main issue with this short is that I donu0026#39;t find it entertaining or engaging in any way. There just isnu0026#39;t enough that keeps me watching. It feels a little like a home movie that youu0026#39;d show your family.”
