“As a gay man, I try to support the LGBT cause. But when a so-called documentary comes out purporting to profile trans, etc hmesless people a the piers near Christopher Street, I have to call foul.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI live on Christopher Street and have since the 1980u0026#39;s. There hasnt been a homeless encapment of anyone here since then. Back in the 70u0026#39;s and 80u0026#39;s the piers were a crumbling mess and the scene of some very nafarious after sundown doings. The AIDS crisis and gentrification cleared all that up.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eNow the piers have been revitalized inot lovely parks for people to enjoy.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eNot only did I watch this u0026quot;documentaryu0026quot; wondering where they found the people to profle, but I actually walked over to the area to see if I could find any of them. I couldnu0026#39;t.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIu0026#39;m not saying these people donu0026#39;t exist, but they sure arent in this neighborhood and saying so really casts a bad cloud over my people..”
