“The films of writer, poet u0026amp; filmmaker Khemir all stand on their own, but his personal signature is easily traceable in his u0026#39;The Doveu0026#39;s Lost Necklaceu0026#39;, his second film after the sensational u0026#39;Wanderers Of The Desertu0026#39;.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThings are quite different too between the two films; where there was magic in the realism of u0026#39;Wanderers…u0026#39;, there is some mundane stuff in the magic of u0026#39;The Dove…u0026#39;. Which is a big difference.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eA lush and beautiful film, u0026#39;The Dove…u0026#39; is very entertaining, indeed as if experiencing an unknown chapter of the u0026#39;Arabian Nightsu0026#39;. Even the desert in u0026#39;The Dove…u0026#39; seems to be cleaned up. The film is smooth and polished as a fairy tale, and this is a pity when judged against u0026#39;Wanderers…u0026#39;, where every detail of the film rings out as true and real, which envelops the make-believe within the story to make it all seem very possible.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eu0026#39;The Dove…u0026#39; is beautiful and worthy of your time and attention, where u0026#39;Wanderers…u0026#39; is a breathtaking experience.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIt does make one yearn to see the last of Khemiru0026#39;s Desert Trilogy -Babu0026#39;Aziz- which promises to use yet another way of storytelling.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eNacer Khemir is a gifted filmmaker, and a superb storyteller. I for one would love to read his books and poems, as well as watching many more films from his hand !!”
