Side Seeing (2022). 1h 30m

“I had never heard about this 2022 romantic comedy Thai and Vietnamese joint venture titled u0026quot;Side Seeingu0026quot; prior to stumbling upon it by random chance here in 2023. And with it being an Asian movie that I hadnu0026#39;t already seen, of course I opted to give the movie a view.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eWriter and director Thanadet Pradit put together a fair enough script and storyline here. It was pretty straight forward, but at the same time somewhat generic as well. But hey, at least you know what you are getting into here, if you enjoy archetypical romantic comedies. I will say, however, that the storyline in u0026quot;Side Seeingu0026quot; was enjoyable enough for what it turned out to be.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI wasnu0026#39;t familiar with the cast ensemble, but the majority of the cast put on good enough performances. Well, aside from leading Vietnamese actress Ngoc Lan Vy (playing May), whose acting performance was rigid, wooden, amateurish and mostly devoid of conviction and emotion. It was a shame that they cast her for a lead, because her inanimate performance took away so much from the other performers on the screen.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAll in all, a watchable romantic comedy that was somewhat on the generic side. It was suitable and adequate for a single viewing, though I doubt that I will ever consider sitting down to watch u0026quot;Side Seeingu0026quot; a second time.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eMy rating of writer and director Thanadet Praditu0026#39;s 2022 romantic comedy u0026quot;Side Seeingu0026quot; lands on a five out of ten stars.”
