Lat Mat: 48H (2021). 1h 50m

“As I sat down to watch the 2021 Vietnamese movie u0026quot;Lat Mat: 48Hu0026quot; (aka u0026quot;Face Off 48Hu0026quot;), I was under the impression that it was an action comedy, however, there wasnu0026#39;t any comedy elements to the movie. So I was a little bit disappointed, as I had expected some laughs as well.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eNormally I enjoy Asian action movies, however, director Ly Haiu0026#39;s 2021 movie u0026quot;Lat Mat: 48Hu0026quot; was just not blessed with a proper storyline. The script was pretty weak, and that made for a somewhat shallow action movie experience. And the fact that the action sequences werenu0026#39;t exactly over-the-top either, just didnu0026#39;t really help much to boost the overall feel of the movie.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eGiven my limited exposure to the Vietnamese cinema, then I wasnu0026#39;t familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie. I canu0026#39;t say that I was particularly impressed with what I saw on the screen, but then again, the actors and actresses didnu0026#39;t exactly have much of anything to work with.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI am sure that there will be some hardcore action buffs out there that will find some enjoyment in u0026quot;Lat Mat: 48Hu0026quot;. I, however, like a movie to have a bit more of a thoroughly constructed and interesting storyline to supplement the action.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIn fact, I gave up on the movie with just 20 minutes to go. But by then, I was just simply way too bored to carry on the torture. And this is not a movie that I will ever return to attempt to finish watching.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eMy rating of u0026quot;Lat Mat: 48Hu0026quot; lands on a generous three out of ten stars.”
