The Art of Un-War (2022). 1h 4m

“I had the privilege to follow Krzysztof Wodiczko for quite a few years and witness firsthand how migrants, unhoused people, veterans, and others, who suffer from PTSD use his projects for different purposes. As an artist, I was extremely amazed to see how people were able to use the projects as a tool for healing. I can attest that they did indeed get a lot out of the process- in fact, I would say the process itself was the most important aspect to them. And the other thing that was important was how in every country that I traveled to the audience was so fixated to the monuments speaking. Wodiczkou0026#39;s special ability is how heu0026#39;s able to hold peoples attention for a long time with his projections. They are indeed mesmerizing and quite profound. To me hereu0026#39;s not that many artist in the social practice arena. While all art communicates a message of some sort, I feel what is special about this art form is that it communicates a message to individuals but also simultaneously on a societal level.”
