White Wolves: Ghosts of the Arctic (Video 2017). White Wolves: Ghosts of the Arctic: Directed by Oliver Goetzl. We follow a pack of wolves on Ellesmere Island, in Canada's far north, as they struggle to raise their pups in the brief arctic summer. Hidden in her den, the alpha female of the pack gives birth to a new generation. Time is of the essence: her pups need to grow quickly and they have much to learn if they are to survive the merciless winter ahead.

“While I appreciate that nature is nature and documentaries need to include this, some of the content in this film is extremely graphic and did not need to be put in. They did not need to include an entire clip of a wolf getting mauled by another wolf pack and being left to die gasping for air. Iu0026#39;ve been in tears half the night because of how barbaric and visceral that scene was, and I donu0026#39;t know if Iu0026#39;ll ever get it out of my mind. Also when a wolf found another wolfs cubs and they included the crunching of the wolf eating its skull while killing it. This seemed too much for shock value and was NOT needed. Because of this my review is 5 stars. Otherwise would have been a great documentary. But this is not the type of thing people want to see when learning about different animals. Put bloody spoiler warnings at least, Jesus Christ.”
