“I had not heard about this 2018 South Korean crime comedy titled u0026quot;Gateu0026quot; from director Shin Jai-Ho. But I initially found the movieu0026#39;s synopsis to be interesting enough. Plus, the fact that this was an Asian movie I hadnu0026#39;t already seen, also helped to make me want to sit down and watch it.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe storyline in u0026quot;Gateu0026quot;, as written by from writers Lee Hyun-Chol and Song Chang-Yong, proved to be adequate enough. It made for an okay viewing, though it was not a particularly outstanding or memorable movie. While the script was entertaining enough for what it was, it was sort of a generic movie.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe acting performances in the movie were good, and there were a couple of familiar faces on the cast list.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eWhile u0026quot;Gateu0026quot; certainly was an adequate viewing experience, this is hardly a movie that warrants more than a single viewing, simply because the storyline and script just doesnu0026#39;t have sufficient contents to support more than a single viewing.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eNot a gem in the South Korean cinema, but watchable for what it was, if you enjoy crime comedies.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eMy rating of u0026quot;Gateu0026quot; lands on a bland five out of ten stars.”
