“When I stumbled upon the 2012 Hong Kong romantic comedy u0026quot;Tian Sheng Ai Qing Wangu0026quot; (aka u0026quot;Natural Born Loversu0026quot;) by random chance here in 2023, of course I opted to watch it. I like Hong Kong cinema a lot, and with this being a movie I had never heard about, of course I had to watch it.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eHowever, writer and director Patrick Kong only managed to put together a bland and generic script, and it was bland even for a romantic comedy. The storyline in u0026quot;Tian Sheng Ai Qing Wangu0026quot; was pretty much romantic comedy textbook stuff, so you know what you are getting here, for better or worse.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe acting performances in u0026quot;Tian Sheng Ai Qing Wangu0026quot; were fair enough, though I have to say that there wasnu0026#39;t much chemistry between Chi-Lam and Annie Liu, and the movie was held back from the lack of on-screen chemistry between the two. But individually, they did put on fair enough performances. I was only familiar with Philip Keung and Michelle Lo on the cast list.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI enduded up giving up on watching u0026quot;Tian Sheng Ai Qing Wangu0026quot; with 36 minutes to go to the end. But I was getting more and more bored with each passing minute, because the storyline was so bland, and the relationship between Chi-Lam and Annie Liu was stale and lacking sparks. And I have zero intentions of returning to attempt to finish watching the rest of the movie. And truth be told, I donu0026#39;t even care how the movie ends, as I simply lost all interest in the narrative and the characters.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIf you enjoy romantic comedies, then the Hong Kong cinema have far better choices to offer than this 2012 movie u0026quot;Tian Sheng Ai Qing Wangu0026quot; from writer and director Patrick Kong.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eMy rating of u0026quot;Tian Sheng Ai Qing Wangu0026quot; lands on a three out of ten stars.”
