“Caviar is a weird mockumentary-horror, that combines elements of found footage, mock social media posts, and deep fake audio clips of real politicians (with videos featuring professional lookalikes), to fashion a bizarre conspiracy about a u0026quot;missingu0026quot; activist, aliens, and owls…or something like that.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eItu0026#39;s kind of hard to follow exactly what is going on in the rest of the film, to be honest.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eBut the plot revolves around a left-leaning family being drawn deep down the rabbit hole of a right wing conspiracy.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eWhich acts to both blend and blur the lines between the two dichotomies.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIt plays off a series of tropes present in mediums particularly exploited by the fringe extremes of the internet.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThings like youtube series, vodcasts, and podcasts.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAll of which culminates with an absurd story about the nefarious intentions of owls – who may or may not be aliens and/or demons from another dimension or planet.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eEither way…whatever itu0026#39;s about…itu0026#39;s a convoluted mess.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAlbeit, by design.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eBecause even when itu0026#39;s over…you still arenu0026#39;t sure what the hell it was ever about.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eOther than it has something to do with a bad trip…or mkultra…or child sacrifice…or some combination of the three, perhaps.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eWho the hell knows.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eJust embrace the weirdness.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAnd roll with it.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eCause none of it makes any sense.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eItu0026#39;s just a ride.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003e2 out of 10.”
