Maksym Osa (2022). Maksym Osa: Directed by Myroslav Latyk. With Vasiliy Kukharskiy, Olga Makeeva, Vladimir Yushchenko, Sergey Denga. Ukraine – 1636. Someone has attacked a battalion of cossacks that were transporting the gold of the Polish king. A cossack – Maksym Osa – tries to find the missing gold, but soon becomes one of the main suspects.

“As this is the first ever Ukrainian comic book adaptation, I double its score, otherwise it is advised only for hardcore trash or Ukraine fans. The only decent scene is u0026quot;werewolfu0026#39;su0026quot; transformation by the end, and the predictable plot is barely saved by a mildly surprising twist. The u0026quot;evil returnsu0026quot; promise at the end kinda reminds 80s, but overall meagre 1 000 000 USD budget due to movie being completed during the war spells failure. Otherwise this fragmented work never delivers its promising premise: itu0026#39;s neither Sin City, nor Tarrantino 🙁 If you are into best Ukrainian war movies, check u0026quot;Nashi Kotykyu0026quot;, if period fantasy then u0026quot;Infernal Guidon, or Cossack Christmasu0026quot; as for historical u0026quot;Escape from Stalinu0026#39;s Death Campu0026quot; (only non-trash listed here). For Ukrainian Ed Wood check out Lybomyr Levytskiu0026#39;s u0026quot;Tini nezabutykh predkivu0026quot; or other recent works.”
