12KYam yeung lo 4: Yu gwai tung hang (1998). Yam yeung lo 4: Yu gwai tung hang: Directed by Herman Yau. With Louis Koo, Paulyn Sun, Simon Lui, Tat-Ming Cheung. The fourth installment in the "Troublesome Night" series. As in the previous films, the film winds together an anthology of comedic horror tales all loosely linked together. In this one, all the stories involve tourists from Hong Kong visiting the Philippines on holiday.
“I have watched one through three of the u0026quot;Yam Yeung Lou0026quot; (aka u0026quot;Troublesome Nightu0026quot;) franchise, and havenu0026#39;t been overly thrilled or entertained by them. But as I stumbled upon u0026quot;Yam Yeung Lo 4: Yu Gwai Tung Hangu0026quot; here in 2023, I still opted to watch it, on account of it being a Hong Kong movie that I hadnu0026#39;t already seen.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAnd I have to say that in comparison to the previous three movies in the franchise, then u0026quot;Yam Yeung Lo 4: Yu Gwai Tung Hangu0026quot; was definitely a major step up. Writers Kenneth Hau Wai Lau and Kwok Chi Tsang put together a more enjoyable, appealing and funny storyline for this fourth movie. The storyline in this fourth movie revolves around three different stories really, all interwoven and nicely connected to one another. Director Herman Yau made it seem like it was one continuous story told, just with three different aspects to it.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe acting performances in u0026quot;Yam Yeung Lo 4: Yu Gwai Tung Hangu0026quot; were good, and there are some familiar faces on the cast list, with the likes of Louis Koo, Simon Lui and Raymond Pak-Ming Wong.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eVisually then u0026quot;Yam Yeung Lo 4: Yu Gwai Tung Hangu0026quot; was pretty low key. The special effects and make-up in the movie are sort of cringeworthy, but luckily the movie doesnu0026#39;t use effects in an abundance.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAll in all, then I found the 1998 horror comedy u0026quot;Yam Yeung Lo 4: Yu Gwai Tung Hangu0026quot; from director Herman Yau to be an adequately enjoyable and funny movie. And as such, I am rating it a five out of ten stars.”
