Rokkazu (2003)
29KRokkazu (2003). Rokkazu: Directed by Takanori Jinnai. With Yumi Asô, Moto Fuyuki, Hakuryû, Hanawa. 'Rockers' is an inconspicuous provincial rock band which could brag of empty halls and a single fan only. Jin (group soloist) desperately dreamed of a rock star career instead of a carpenter family business. Bassist Gaku-chan so much wanted to fly since childhood that has serious problems with the use of every possible types of psychotropic substances. Momo-chan (drums) have no luck in love, and every new failure only leaves crossed out tattoos on his body. Ko-chan (guitar) is a mess of sexual repression after a childhood at the mercy of two elder sisters eager to use him as a guinea pig for their make-up skills. The band would drag to a bleak existence, until they forced to look for an additional guitar player and crazy talented and charismatic guitarist Tani joins them. Now when the group found its soul and the engine, they intend to fly to the top and reach all their dreams: to become professional musicians and stars, have a lot of fans, women and drugs.
“….after getting over-saturated with u0026quot;goodu0026quot; movies that are made unnecessarily complex to get critical attention, I checked this movie and I was very amused in its simpleness. Oh yes, it seems to lack a good script and the first viewing just gave me a goofy comedy. A second viewing still gave me a goofy comedy but I noticed moments of brilliance and meaning in the movie then. Iu0026#39;m sure Iu0026#39;m going to give this a watch again because I love nonsensical movies that do nothing but have a good time. And a good time is what all simple people need except for snobbish types. Incidentally, this is the type of movie I donu0026#39;t want to admit I liked……because I want to look like an intelligent gentleman which I am definitely not, neither is two/third the people commenting here on IMDb. It starts slow…..grooves slowly, goofing around…….has some moments of excitement……but it stays a very laid-back comedy….all the characters had something special. MUSICALLY = GREAT. Iu0026#39;m looking for the OST. …this will be a movie I will say I donu0026#39;t like but which I will always really like… If you donu0026#39;t wanna watch it, donu0026#39;t. Its none of my concern. Have a good life and die!!”
