“Director Conrad Weaveru0026#39;s u0026quot;Heroinu0026#39;s Gripu0026quot; takes the viewer directly to the front lines of our nationu0026#39;s Opioid Crisis, focusing on some of the hardest hit areas in Maryland. Throughout the film, we meet the Cops tasked with assisting those addicted in seeking the help they so desperately need. But itu0026#39;s the profiles of families who have been ravaged by an addict within the home that are the most heartbreaking. When Weaver introduces one of them with a series of photos depicting a healthy successful high school student and then follows with the voices of his parents who refer to their child using terms like u0026quot;wasu0026quot;, your heart sinks as you realize this young person who had his entire life in front of him is no longer with us. To hear these parents tell the audience they had to go as far as cashing out their retirements in order to get their child the help they need is a testament to the value of life I wish more people would embrace. The Cops, clinical personnel, experts, and a host of those deeply affected bring forth the harsh realities of this crisis in a way that is both informative, as well as compelling. Put simply, this is a must see film.”
