“I did not expect some Oscar material but at least something like The Family (Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer) or Analyze This (De Niro again). There is some production value notable, but, sadly, the story and the jokes are rather bad. The script misses a feel for timing and too many jokes just fall flat (that spitting out every time the other mafia family name is called is just one minor example – this may be funny for someone aged under ten ). Why Toni Colette and Monica Bellucci took part in this, I donu0026#39;t know, maybe the script sounded better than its execution. How you can make fun with even the most simplest jokes shows a movie like The Naked Gun with excellence, Mafia Mamma on the contrary shows how not to do it. On top nothing really fits together, even the stereotyped mafia u0026quot;charactersu0026quot; are lame and the whole movie feels the whole time disjointed, even fractured, like pieces of different puzzles that someone tried to mend together. The Family, despite not being a masterpiece but just a rather average but solid comedy, is the way better movie. Mafia Mamma? Mamma mia …”
