They Talk (2021). They Talk: Directed by Giorgio Bruno. With Rocío Muñoz, Sydney White, Margaux Billard, Hal Yamanouchi. Alex, a sound engineer, accidentally records mysterious voices: disturbing messages from the afterlife who warn him against an imminent and terrifying danger. Amanda, with whom he shares a terrible secret, re-emerges from his past. The appearance of the young woman triggers chilling paranormal phenomena that leave behind a trail of corpses. Is she the danger the voices of the dead speak about?

“A thriller with its plot-heavy scenes creating a weighty, incomprehensible story. Meanwhile the impressive acting surfaces here and there amidst all the unanswered questions. The documentary film subplot, itself, is abandoned, so too many of the movieu0026#39;s characters disappear, leaving the effective protagonist alone with too many computer scenes, and too many drone shots. Thereu0026#39;s a gorgeous synthesizer score and the special effects are top-notch–and practical. Only a few obnoxious stutter-cuts interrupt what the director maintains in traditional style and pace. Rocio Morales is superb as the movieu0026#39;s most tragic character. Thereu0026#39;s a large quantity of atmosphere, and the movieu0026#39;s art direction and locations support this. If only the writers and editors had collaborated more on communicating suspenseful information over just creating beautifully photographed suspense, and some quality gore.”
