Death to Prom: Directed by Matthew Stenerson, Jeremy Wilker. With Dominique Almand, Vinny Balbo, Andrew Borger, Joher Coleman. Two best friends make the best of going to high school by dreaming up fashion magazine photo shoots, and bribing their siblings to model for them. René indulges his fantasies and loves designing clothes. Frankie lives for her camera and punk rock. They both fall for Sasha, the shy soccer player with a soft spot for poems by Pushkin. When the three of them are caught between competing invitations to prom, their high-fashion drama could destroy their friendships along with the entire prom.

“u0026quot;Death to Promu0026quot; is a tale of modern teenagers making the best of their high school years by embracing their identities and their passions. Frankie and Rene are comfortable with who they are and donu0026#39;t feel the need to conform to with other students, so when a popular soccer player infiltrates their practically perfect duo their boat is more than a little rocked. u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThis Minnesota-based film was actually filmed in Minnesota which made the movie extra spectacular. Far from Fargo and East-Jesus No Where, Minneapolis makes strong appearances boasting its quality scenery from tower tops to store fronts and of course, the city skyline. The smooth transitions from scene to scene and beautiful soundtrack enhanced the story-line. u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eu0026quot;Unexplainable Storiesu0026quot; by Cloud Cult supported Sasha upon his entrance to talk to Frankie at the flower shop and built hopeful suspense for the audience. u0026quot;Death to Promu0026quot; accurately reflects the awkwardness of the teenage years with minimal use of technology so those of us who survived teenage years without social media outlets (thank goodness) can relate. u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIf you are a teenager or were a teenager, see this film. Although I donu0026#39;t want to go back in time, I do wish I lived my high-school life a little more Frankie and Rene-style. u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIf you ever wanted to get a hug from the big screen, here is your chance: it is currently playing at the theater in the Mall of America. Leave the film feeling warm u0026amp; fuzzy, loved, and hugged.”
