The chronicles of four years in the life of Julie, a young woman who navigates the troubled waters of her love life and struggles to find her career path, leading her to take a realistic look at who she really is.

“I went to the theatre without any sort of preconception or expectaction towards this film, and I came out in love with a 30 years-old Norwegian woman, absolutely shaken by her fate and her life as if it was my own.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eItu0026#39;s my first Joachim Trieru0026#39;s film, I would say it has a bit of Woody Allen, a bit of the French Nouvelle Vague in his film but a lot of Scandinavian genius as well. The form of the film is to me very original in many ways. How could people call it boring ? Itu0026#39;s inventive at every shot at every camera movement, the viewer is left to guess what a look, a stare or a grimace means, the actors are beautiful, the scenes are to be remembered. Some of them are indeed true features I would even say for the history of cinema (Julieu0026#39;s meeting with Eivind is just hilarious – most of the party scenes are actually) . There is definitely a Scandinavian touch in this film which lies in its frankness, its crudness of words and thoughts and the fact that it tackles the major issues of our Western modern society without taboos.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe acting in general is just amazing (no wonder why the actress got the palme du0026#39;or) and at the end of the film you not only have a broad view of Julieu0026#39;s life (in that sense I personnally find the French title – Julie in 12 chapters – more appropriate especially if you think of the expectactions one could have with the other title), but you also understand her, you sympathise with her and for sure youu0026#39;ll just fall in love.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eSo far the best film of 2021 without a shadow of a doubt !”
