Office yau gwai: Directed by Marco Mak. With Karen Mok, Shu Qi, Jordan Chan, Stephen Fung. Investor firm employee Pat (Karen Mok) overhear a group of girls talk about the haunting that takes place each year in their office high-rise, which leads to the deaths of nine people every time. Meanwhile, Pat’s friend, computer game programmer Ken (Stephen Fung), runs into a mysterious woman covered all in white in an elevator while in the office on his first day on the job. These events precede three loosely connected stories involving Pat, Ken and other office workers’ ghostly encounters in three different office divisions within the building.

“HAUNTED OFFICE continues the Hong Kong love affair (or is that cashing in?) of all things ghosts and pretty young ladies with the ability to see ghosts. In this case, Qi Shu and Karen Mok brackets a 3-episode movie all set in a haunted office building. The movie is a number of clever twists, and even the reason for the hauntings gets a thumbs up for being logical — in the sense that the deaths werenu0026#39;t random, not that the ghost stories make sense.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eOf the three, Karen Moku0026#39;s bathroom shenanigans was the weakest, with Qi Shuu0026#39;s last story being the most effective. The middle story, about a greedy executive who gets his just desserts, is also rather entertaining.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAll in all, one of the better horror outings from Hong Kong.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003e6 out of 10.”
