Headshot (2016)
43KHeadshot: Directed by Kimo Stamboel, Timo Tjahjanto. With Iko Uwais, Chelsea Islan, Sunny Pang, Very Tri Yulisman. Uwais plays a young man who washes ashore, an amnesiac with a serious head injury whose past comes back to haunt him shortly after being nursed back to health by a young doctor. Violence ensues. Sweet, sweet violence.
“Iko Uwais is amazing. If youu0026#39;ve seen him in other movies, you already know this and donu0026#39;t need me to try to sell you on this one.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThis movie is pretty much non stop action, with some scenes being very brutal and even a little difficult to watch. (Iu0026#39;m generally not the one to look away, unless itu0026#39;s something like *that* scene from u0026quot;American History Xu0026quot;.) The choreography is beautiful to watch and I found myself rewinding and rewatching multiple scenes several times. I really, really liked the way the movie was shot as well, from fast to slow motion, to many different angles used.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe rest of the major characters were also great, with Very Tri Yulisman really blowing me away.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eSure, the movie is maybe a little predictable, but thereu0026#39;s still a good story there – much better than I expected for this type of movie. Thereu0026#39;s also just enough of drama and romance to add substance, without being cheesy or annoying. (Weu0026#39;re here for the action, after all. If we want romance, weu0026#39;ll go watch u0026quot;The Notebooku0026quot; or u0026quot;La La Landu0026quot; – both of which are great movies, BTW.)u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eSome of my favorite scenes are around the 29m, 1h11m, and 1h42m marks.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eJust do yourself a favor and watch this movie. :)”
