The Will: Directed by Louise Alston. With Megan Dodds, Chris McKenna, Caroline Mixon, Trey Murphy. Early in her life, Josephine Malone learned the hard way that there was only one person she could love and trust: her grandmother, Lydia Malone. Out of necessity, unconsciously and very successfully, Josephine donned a disguise to keep all others at bay. She led a globetrotting lifestyle on the fringes of the fashion and music elite, but she kept herself distant. While Josephine was trotting the globe, retired boxer Jake Spear was living in the same small town as Lydia. There was nothing disguised about Jake. Including the fact he made a habit of making very bad decisions about who to give his love. But for Josephine and Jake, there was one person who adored them. One person who knew how to lead them to happiness. And one person who was intent on doing it. Even if she had to do it as her final wish on this earth.

“So, The Will is one of my favorite books by Kristen Ashley. Dangerous to watch a movie based on any book, but ESPECIALLY a favorite. Theyu0026#39;ll never get it exactly right! (The one exception to this, in my experience, was The Pelican Brief by John Grisham.) So, when I watch a movie based off a book Iu0026#39;ve read, I try to go into it looking at the movie as its own version of the same story. It truly helps!u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eNow, with that background – they did a decent job w/ this adaptation! Location u0026amp; costuming were EXCELLENT. I absolutely loved how Josieu0026#39;s wardrobe changed throughout the movie as she dropped her shields u0026amp; became comfortable finding the real her. I liked most of the actors, tho there were a couple roles that didnu0026#39;t quite u0026quot;fitu0026quot; for me. My issue was more w/ the way these characters were cast/directed/edited than with the actors themselves, because I felt like they all did an excellent job. There were a couple scenes that I thought would be a bit confusing if you hadnu0026#39;t read the book, but mostly everything came together nicely.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eOverall, I enjoyed the movie, will likely watch it again, and will definitely be doing another reread of the book here soon! It made me want to dive back into the details of Josie u0026amp; Jakeu0026#39;s story. : )”
