Skookum: The Hunt for Bigfoot (2016)
14KSkookum: The Hunt for Bigfoot: Directed by Jack M.F. Skyyler, Rob Gaudet, Alex Zinzopoulos. With Paul Logan, Ashton Leigh, Dianna Renée, Shane Dzicek. Deep in the Louisiana swamp lives a legend. In the fall of 2013, the legend comes to life. Many have seen, some have heard, and none have forgotten: the giant hairy creature with glowing red eyes that locals refer to as the Beast of Bayou Dorcheat. When the long dormant Bigfoot monster seemingly begins a brutal reign of terror, a glamorous talk show host, Dr. Anna Rock, must leave her highly coveted position to search for her younger sister Megan, a Bigfoot researcher, in the swampy wilderness of northern Louisiana. She reluctantly enlists the aid of her former boyfriend and his father, two of the world’s most respected Bigfoot research scientists, a Native American shaman, and Cajun swamp guide Gator Boudreaux. Separated from the others during the exhaustive search for Megan, Anna ends up alone in the swamp, with only the fading light of her cell phone to guide the way. Ultimately, she must confront her own worst nightmare to find her sister and provide the key to ending the massive carnage, and face down the most dangerous creature known to man.
“Well, the movieu0026#39;s cover was indeed the first hint that this was not going to be a great cinematic experience, and then there was the title of course. Yeah, but still, I believe in giving a movie a fair chance, because sometimes thereu0026#39;s gold to be found amongst the rabble.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eHowever, u0026quot;Skookum: The Hunt for Bigfootu0026quot; wasnu0026#39;t one such occurrence.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eBut I suppose if you find a guy wearing a dubious rubber mask and a stuffy furry suit to be entertaining, then I am sure that you will find some sort of enjoyment in u0026quot;Skookum: The Hunt for Bigfootu0026quot;. I, however, just doesnu0026#39;t find such to be proper entertainment, so I was not enjoying this movie in any way.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe storyline written by Debi King McMartin, Lyn Morgan and Jack M.F. Skyyler was dubious at best. And it simply amazes me that not one, but three, count them, three writers could collectively manage to come up with a heap of dung such as u0026quot;Skookum: The Hunt for Bigfootu0026quot;.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAnd the acting in the movie, well it wasnu0026#39;t all that bad actually, but the actors and actresses just had very little to work with in terms of a proper script or likeable characters.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eShould you happen to enjoy movies that deal with the mythical creature Bigfoot, then there are some way more entertaining and enjoyable movies on that particular topic. u0026quot;Skookum: The Hunt for Bigfootu0026quot; is simply not worth the time, money or effort.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eMy rating of this 2016 movie settles on a mere two out of ten stars. This was a swing and a miss from directors Jack Jack Skyyler, Rob Gaudet and Alex Zinzopoulos.”
