Permanent: Directed by John Mosetich. With Marie Blaise, David Dallas, Erica Derrickson, Benjamin Jones. Six unrelated people must push through their past and the mob underworld to discover what has controlled each of them all these years. Sex, Drugs, Guns and God have created a series of events which will leave each of them changed forever.

“When a young female prisoner en route to a doctoru0026#39;s appointment escapes, she commits suicide by backing into a bus after a row with her father.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe woman, Jennie Long, was 11 years into a life sentence for killing Abby Mantel, her lover Keithu0026#39;s daughter. When her death hits the news, someone contacts the police with an alibi for the night of the murder that he had originally reported to the police. However, the police never contacted him again, and he had moved to America.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eVera and her team re-open the case. But then thereu0026#39;s another murder – was the second murdered victim the killer? Or had he been a witness to Abbyu0026#39;s murder 11 years ago? Then Abbyu0026#39;s father is attacked. Vera has opened a hornetu0026#39;s nest. The original murderer is still out there.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eExcellent story with the depressing aura that seems prevalent in the Vera series. The stark locations are one reason; the weathered character of Vera, brilliantly played by Brenda Blethyn, is another. Sheu0026#39;s a multilayered character who has recently lost her father, to whom she was devoted. She has moved into his house which is in the middle of nowhere. Sheu0026#39;s gruff, hiding a vulnerability she shows no one, and a woman used to being alone.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eBlethynu0026#39;s portrayal dominates the series, and she makes it well worth seeing.”
