Stakeout (2020)
48KStakeout: Directed by John Otteni, Paul Otteni. With Aaron Amort, Keara Barnes, Matt Carstens, Lowell Deo. In an effort to prove the existence of vampires, a film crew documents the daily routine and late night stakeouts of a self-proclaimed vampire hunter.
“Well, granted, the 2020 movie u0026quot;Stakeoutu0026quot; is not a movie that will win everyone over, and it is actually somewhat of an acquired taste – pardon the pun. But I must admit that the movie actually worked out well enough to prove semi-entertaining for me.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe story is about a guy filming a documentary, when he is approached by someone claiming to be a vampire hunter. Taking up on the lead, the documentary crew follows the alleged vampire hunter in his daily routines. With the impressions of being a rather unstable and aloof guy, the film crew carries on the documentary for a good laugh. But just how much of a geek is this guy? And are vampires actually real?u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eSure, u0026quot;Stakeoutu0026quot; is a slow-paced movie, but it was done in a nice enough manner that it proved entertaining enough. It was the acting performances and the oddity of the entire plot that worked well in favor of the overall feel of the movie.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI liked how it was made as a documentary, while it was actually a horror comedy. Sort of a spoof on all those God awful u0026#39;found-footageu0026#39; movies out there.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eu0026quot;Stakeoutu0026quot; is a niche movie, no doubt about it, and it is one that will not find a broad appeal to the wider audience. But give it a go if you enjoy oddball movies, because directors John Otteni and Paul Otteni actually managed to produce a fun and interesting geeky movie.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eWhile u0026quot;Stakeoutu0026quot; provided adequate entertainment for a single viewing, this is hardly a movie that I will revisit for a second time. Why? Well, because the movie just doesnu0026#39;t have the contents or the entertainment value to support more than a single viewing.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eMy rating of the 2020 horror comedy u0026quot;Stakeoutu0026quot; lands on a five out of ten stars.”
