“When I sat down to watch the 2017 South Korean action movie u0026quot;A Special Ladyu0026quot; (aka u0026quot;Mi-oku0026quot;), I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I found the movie by sheer random luck, and given my fascination and love for the Asian cinema, of course I found the time to sit down and watch this.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eWhile u0026quot;A Special Ladyu0026quot; was entertaining enough, it just wasnu0026#39;t an outstanding movie. This was because of the storyline, it proved enjoyable enough, but it was lacked that special ingredient to make it outstanding or even making it memorable.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eSure, there were some good and interesting enough moments here and there throughout the movie, but sadly they just drowned out in the abundance of mediocrity that permeated the rest of the movie.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eWhat works for the movie was the rather nice ensemble of casted actors and actresses. Just a shame that they had so very little to work with, truth be told.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThis is the type of movie that you will watch once, then never return to watch again. And the movie failed to make a lasting impression, despite of having some nice actors and actresses on the cast list, so the movie will just drift slowly into oblivion.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI am rating u0026quot;A Special Ladyu0026quot; a very mediocre five out of ten stars. This wasnu0026#39;t a particularly outstanding movie experience from writer and director An-kyu Lee.”
