Pattas: Directed by R.S. Durai Senthilkumar. With Dhanush, Sneha, Mehreen Pirzada, Naveen Chandra. Sakthi is a petty thief in a Chennai slum, who learns the Adimurai, the ancient and oldest form of martial arts. Meanwhile, an evil man and his son challenge Sakthi for a kickboxing tournament, and Sakthi agrees to participate in it.

“The film is as formulaic as you expect it to be. Itu0026#39;s a basic revenge drama thatu0026#39;s set against the backdrop of mixed martial arts. Adimurai, one of its oldest forms, is used as a storytelling device in the flick (A R Murugadoss tried something similar in 7aam Arivu). While the martial art is intriguing and plays a significant role in its fight sequences, the revenge plot is hackneyed, predictable, and filled with melodrama. Sneha shines as Kanya while Dhanush and the rest sleepwalk through their respective roles.”
