Ist ja irre – ‘ne abgetakelte Fregatte: Directed by Gerald Thomas. With Kenneth Williams, Bernard Cribbins, Juliet Mills, Charles Hawtrey. This is the tale of Albert Poop-Decker, a newly commissioned Midshipman (although he took 8 1/2 years to qualify). He joins the frigate Venus, and adventures through Spanish waters, mutinee and Pirates taking his Captain, his sweet-heart and his best-friend with him! With mistaken identities and shipwrecks awash, it’s a surprise any of them live to tell the tale!

“Caught the second half of u0026quot;Carry On Jacku0026quot; about seven years ago. Thought it was completely unreal.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI recognized Cribbins from the Doctor Who movies with Peter Cushing. Here he reminds me a bit like John Cleese at times, and Trevor Bannister off u0026quot;Are You Being Served?u0026quot;u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eClearly he is filling the blank left by Kenneth Conner.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003enWonder why Juliet Mills appeared in this? As Haleyu0026#39;s sister and Sir Johnu0026#39;s daughter, surely she could have gotten whatever she wanted and didnu0026#39;t have to join this bandwagon.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eShe reminded me of the young girl who u0026quot;posedu0026quot; as a boy in u0026quot;Swiss Family Robinsonu0026quot;. Not at all convincing.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe cow in the lifeboat bit was good.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe amputation joke would have NEVER existed in American film or television back in u0026#39;64.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe one joke I always recalled was u0026#39;the captain fell on deck right where that plaque is.u0026#39;u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eu0026quot;Iu0026#39;m not surprised, I nearly tripped over the silly thing the other day myself.u0026quot;u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eWhen I first heard that line, I had to do a triple take.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003enNo, Sid James, Kenneth Conner, Joan Sims, dear Hattie and Barbara Windsor (thus far, I have only seen her in one, Carry On Spying) werenu0026#39;t in this one.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe interchanging performers basically doing the same characters is a standout for this assortment of movies. u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eNow on to the next Carry On: Carry On Cowboy.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eyee-hah!”
