Sein Freund Jello: Directed by Robert Stevenson. With Dorothy McGuire, Fess Parker, Jeff York, Chuck Connors. A teenage boy grows to love a stray yellow dog while helping his mother and younger brother run their Texas homestead while their father is away on a cattle drive. First thought to be good-for-nothing mutt, Old Yeller is soon beloved by all.

“This film has a lot of heart, and thereu0026#39;s not a phony performance in the entire movie. Fess Parker and Dorothy McGuire are perfect as the down to earth parents, and Tommy Kirk shines as the oldest son trying to become a man. Jeff York, who played Mike Fink in u0026quot;Davy Crockett and the River Piratesu0026quot;, is funny as a lazy settler who doesnu0026#39;t do a thing. Even Chuck Connors has a fine cameo as the real owner of Old Yeller who gives the dog up to please a child.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eOld Yeller still has the power to make me cry, and Iu0026#39;ve seen it at least 50 times. Itu0026#39;s sentimental and pushes all the right buttons, but I still love it.”
