This One's for the Ladies (2018)
9KThis One’s for the Ladies: Directed by Gene Graham. With Lakia Hunter, Michele Moore, Poundcake, Terrill Ross. This documentary explores the sexual and social identity of contemporary black America through intimate, eye opening and often hilarious accounts from women and men who find love and community in the underground world of exotic dancing.
“Initially I thought this was just about Beautiful Black Male dancers and the women who admire them. Iu0026#39;m grateful that the film maker took the time to show the dancers as real people. These dancers come from varied backgrounds and experiences. I believe this helps the audience to see them as real people who have gone through struggles and have worked hard to be more than just products of their environments. These Beautiful Black men are so much more than just entertainers!! Theyu0026#39;re fathers, sons, college graduates, and men who genuinely care about their communities. I also appreciated seeing the women outside of the club. These Beautiful Queens are caring for their families and their communities. They are so much more than they appear initially. Also, the music played throughout the film is the crap!! Iu0026#39;m hoping for a soundtrack!!”
